Learning Paths

Patriot University offers curated learning paths —
guided sequences of documents designed to build understanding
progressively. Current learning paths include:

  • New User Orientation — Platform overview, privacy
    architecture, rights basics
  • Know Your Rights Essentials — Constitutional
    amendments, encounter scenarios, legal resources
  • Investigator’s Toolkit — From beginner OSINT
    concepts through advanced multi-tool workflows
  • Accountability Research — How to read profiles,
    follow the money, verify claims
  • Election Defense — Voting rights by state,
    suppression tactics, observer training

Each learning path provides a recommended reading order with context
notes.

Searching Documents

Use the search bar at the top of the Knowledge Base
section. Results update in real time and can be filtered by
category.

You can also use the [patriot_knowledge_base] shortcode
on any WordPress page to embed the full browsable knowledge base with
category filtering and full-text search.

Timelines and Infographics

Many documents include visual assets to help you understand events at a glance:

  • Timelines — interactive, scrollable chronologies of key events
extracted from the document. Each event shows its date, description, and source
context. Timelines are embedded directly within the article.
  • Infographics — visual summaries (PNG images) that distill a
document’s key facts, relationships, or statistics into a scannable graphic.

These assets appear inline in the article where the editorial team placed them,
or at the end of the document if no specific position was set.

Network Graphs

Some accountability profiles include an interactive network
graph
— a visual map of how that person or organization connects
to others in the knowledge base.

  • Drag the background to pan; scroll to
zoom. The profile you’re reading sits at the center, larger and highlighted.
  • Search the box to find a specific name in the graph.
  • Toggle the relationship types (Mentions, Wikilinks, and
AI-derived People/Orgs/Events/Financial connections) to focus on the links you
    care about.
  • Hide orphans to tidy the view — turning this on removes any
node that has no visible connections left (for example, after you switch off some
relationship types), so only the connected web remains. Turn it off to bring
    those standalone nodes back.
  • Click any node to see a short summary, and use
View Profile to open that person or organization’s page.

Dedicated graph pages may show the whole network at once,
with a layout selector, Color by Community (groups related
figures by cluster), and a panel showing an AI-generated summary of each
cluster’s themes and key actors.

A note on labels: connections and community summaries marked
“AI-Generated” are produced by AI from public documents. They
are starting points for understanding relationships, not verified claims —
follow the links and citations on each profile for the documented evidence.

Patriot University ships 66 specialist AI skills —
deep context files that augment the AI Rights Advisor’s knowledge in
specific constitutional law, immigration law, civil resistance theory,
voting rights law, accountability tracking, truth & reconciliation,
and investigative research (through Phase 4) domains. Skills are loaded
by the FastAPI backend and injected into the AI Rights Advisor
automatically when a question matches a skill’s domain.

Using this in the AI Rights
Advisor

Ask in natural language (e.g., “How do I verify this image?” or “How
do I trace an LLC?”). The advisor draws on the specialist skills above
when the question matches. Always cite official or
primary sources when making factual claims; distinguish
confirmed vs reported vs
alleged.

Ethics reminder

Investigative tooling can harm if misused. Do not paste unrelated
third parties’ sensitive data into chats as a substitute for a secure
investigation workspace. For high-risk whistleblowing, consult
professional journalists or lawyers and org-specific
SecureDrop-style channels.

7. AI Rights Advisor

Overview

The AI Rights Advisor is powered by Claude
(Anthropic) with RAG-enhanced responses grounded in the knowledge base.
The Claude API key is server-side only — it is never
exposed to your browser. Your conversation is not stored on any
server.

Access the AI Rights Advisor at
https://patriot.university/rights-advisor/ or via any page
with the [patriot_chatbot] or
[patriot_rights_advisor] shortcode.

What the Advisor Can Help
With

  • Individual civil rights questions — ICE encounters, police
    interactions, voting, protest
  • Constitutional rights analysis — amendment-by-amendment
    guidance
  • Immigration rights — encounters, detention, removal defense
  • Document drafting assistance — flyers, talking points, letters,
    press releases
  • Strategy guidance — organizational and advocacy strategy
  • Investigative research — how to follow money, verify claims, use
    FOIA

How RAG Works

When you ask a question, the backend automatically retrieves the most
relevant knowledge base documents and injects them as context for the AI
response. Responses include source citations linking back to the
underlying knowledge base documents. This ensures answers are grounded
in the platform’s vetted content rather than general AI knowledge
alone.

Privacy of Chat

  • Conversation history is not stored on any
    server
  • The backend receives only message content — no device ID, no IP
    address is retained
  • Clear your browser’s local storage or use a private/incognito window
to leave no trace on your device

Limitations

  • This is general information only — not legal
    advice
  • For emergencies requiring an attorney, call: National
    Lawyers Guild 1-888-654-3326
  • The advisor may occasionally be unavailable if the backend is
unreachable — the knowledge base remains browsable

8. Rapid Response Alerts

Overview

Rapid Response Alerts are crowdsourced,
community-verified
reports of civil liberties incidents in real
time.

Alert Types

Type Description

WordPress page using [patriot_alert_feed]. The feed
displays the top 5 active alerts, refreshed automatically.

Submitting an Alert

Alert submissions are currently processed through trusted community
channels. Contact your local organizer or community network to report an
incident for inclusion in the feed.

proxying
— the plugin proxies all API calls through your
WordPress server, so the Patriot University backend never receives your
browser’s IP address – SRI integrity hashes on all
scripts and stylesheets – CSRF protection via WordPress
nonces on all AJAX actions – Content Security Policy
headers
automatically injected on plugin pages

Encryption (Backend)

Layer Technology
In-transit TLS 1.3
Server storage AES-256
API key storage Encrypted in WordPress options using AUTH_KEY

Know Your Rights — Quick
Reference

If approached by law enforcement or ICE:

  1. Stay calm. You do not have to consent to a
    search.
  2. Say clearly: “I do not consent to this
    search.”
  3. You have the right to remain silent. You do not
have to answer questions beyond identifying yourself (in
    stop-and-identify states).
  4. You have the right to an attorney. Say: “I want a
    lawyer.”
  5. Do not physically resist — even an unlawful arrest.
    Resist legally, not physically.
  6. Document everything after the encounter — time,
    location, badge numbers, witness names.
