Who Is Tom Rice?

Ralph William ‘Tom’ Rice Jr. (born August 4, 1957, Charleston, South Carolina) is a Republican former U.S. Representative who served South Carolina’s 7th Congressional District from 2013 to 2023. Rice is notable as one of the ten House Republicans who voted to impeach Donald Trump following January 6. He had initially voted to reject Arizona’s results but voted against Pennsylvania’s objection after the Capitol was attacked. He lost his primary to Trump-backed Russell Fry in 2022. Rice was not in Congress when the amicus brief was filed.
